The "blank" races are ones where there's either a contested primary or the filing deadline hasn't passed yet, so I don't know who the Democratic nominee is yet.

Chip in while we can still have elections, it may be too late
While some of this is certainly due to a change of heart by some voters, I'm guessing it is because low propensity voters, who are an important part of Trump's voting base, are low propensity voters, which is to say they don't vote very often in special elections or mid-term elections.
