Roy Cooper has been successful in purple NC precisely because he's consistently done the most to help the most people in the state. We were thankful to have him as governor throughout the Covid pandemic and the storms that hit the state.

I saw one that mentioned prayer, and it wasn't mad at him for praying. It was mad at his support for Isreal (no idea what this guy's stance on that is, but it wasn't mad at him for praying, just for praying about what that person says is the wrong thing.)

That’s not what he said he did. He didn’t “listen to his heart”- he practiced his religion while applying for a govt job, which influenced his decision. The two should simply remain separate.
And to be candid, in a state like North Carolina (which is a battleground state), you need the best candidate that can win. Roy Cooper fits the bill, so yes, donate to him, as well as NC Dems (including eventual ones) up and down the ballot once they declare a run for office.
