Why are so many AI people trying to get into hobbies they absolutely despise? "Fuck reading just give me the summary", Fuck art just make it for me", "I got ideas but fuck actually writing" like??? Maybe just find something you enjoy doing and do that?????
Their hobby is finding new ways to make other people miserable; unfortunately it has become a very popular hobby in recent years
I assume it’s just wanting attention, they don’t want to be a singer, they want to be a popstar, they don’t want to be an artist, they want to be “master”, they don’t want to be an author, they want to be a voice of a generation.
I think it's more that they don't want to *do* anything (tedious, arduous) they want to skip directly to *having done* something.
it's both. it's wanting attention and praise without having to work for it. instant gratification complex. and if it can be monetized, there's also that.
This is especially infuriating to me cuz I've been struggling with artblock for 4+ years (and still am) but NEVER ONCE I surrendered to having something else make it for me... because when I'm actually able to shut up the negative self-talk, sit down and get in the zone I STILL FEEL GOOD.
I hate that the message that's passing is that the praise you receive for something is more important than HOW and WHY you do it... Because it's also what the negative little shit inside my brain keeps telling me and I'm like... Isn't this what you're supposed to fight against if you wanna do stuff?
They want the gratification, not a hobby. They want to reap the results of doing something without having to do it, probably because they are too lazy. That the actual process of doing something is the satisfying part, the rewarding part, is something they will never understand.
They want to destroy other people´s hobbies while profite on it. It´s abusers mentality, cruelty is the point.
They want the recognition, the belonging to a group, being lauded. But not actually doing ANYTHING at all because they think they should be lauded independently of if they deserve it or not. "Stolen valor" but for arts.
They see artist* praising and supporting each other and their blood boils with hate. *All hobbies are art, no matter if you paint miniatures, knit clothes, compose chiptunes, write fan fiction, etc.
I think they're weighted down by feelings of inferiority and/or FOMO and need to get in on whatever they imagine is cool, prestigeous, admirable, etc. but since it's not their calling, they can't be arsed to actually do it

Because they don't want to write or make art. They want the respect that comes with being 'a great artist' or 'a great writer.' They're too stupid to realize that the reason that the greats ARE respected is because of how much hard work artists and writers do.

But *insert hobby here* too haaaard! Do it for meeee!!! Making things easier as opposed to complex is nice and all, but when you make it all too convenient, everyone is now a so-called professional. It's the literal Syndrome effect: "When everyone's super, no one will be."
As an Ascended Ideas Guy myself (I actually learned to do work after my childhood), these people come from a breed who think ideas are gold and not lead. They might even have Idea-less people around them say things like "wow you're so creative what an amazing idea, I wish I could think of that!"
The Idea becomes both the currency and the difficult part of creation in household cultures like this. You've got to copyright your Idea before someone else has it; if you can just hit on the next great Idea, you're destined to be Zuck.
So now there's a machine where you can type your Epic Idea and the machine just spits out something kinda close and that's it, you succeeded at your Idea! It's real now! But Ideas Guys have little to no expertise so they're bad at judging quality.
idea guys also tend get really angry and abusive when you don't fall all over yourself to help them bring their ideas to life either you are too dumb to see their brilliant vision or you are going to steal the idea for yourself unless they micromanage you forever
they have no imagination nor vision, you're asking too much from them

(Disclaimer: I don't do this) The art thing I kinda get, insofar as I have vivid imagination but neither the artistic skill to draw what I see in my minds eye; nor the time to sufficiently develop that skill. It could be neat to see those thoughts put down on paper, as it were.
The thing that drives most creatives is the passion to make something that they can say they made themselves. Not having the skill is fine, but if you don't actually start and put the work in then you're never going to get better and develop that skill like every other artist has done.
Lol, you will never get the result you see in your head from a machine, it will keep giving your mixes of other people works. You are the only one who can bring Your vision to life. I get not wanting to study art as it's time consuming but ai is absolutely useless for you.
Doodle while you're on phone calls and stuff! It's good for your brain, and it helps you absorb info, and they you develop a skill.
what normal people do with this situation is commission an artist who DOES have the skills. a machine is just gonna give you some regurgitated blend that'll never look right.
there definitely are times that I'd rather read a summary of some events rather than the product itself. comic books are a big one for me, one actual story can take like a hundred issues to get it across intermixed with a bunch of fights that do nothing for me lmfao

Because they think they can become millionaires by becoming a successful [X] without having to put the work in. They don't even have the awareness that the millionaire writers, etc are very rare exceptions. All they see is "get AI to write book, become next Terry Pratchett"
It the same as people who chase their black belt in martial arts and then get rather crestfallen when they get told that all the black belt means is that you understand your basics, and it's now that the real learning and work starts

I watched a neat video on this topic. In the video she was making the case that lots of people see art as a means to an end. Its just content to make money with. While artists see the act of making the art to be an end in and of itself.
I assume they just want/need income.
