What's wrong with a safe space so a puppy doesn't get into trouble? Like eat something dangerous, or chew electrical wires or tear up a couch, or potty somewhere???

Would you put your baby in there? No? Then don’t put someone else’s baby in there.

Not cribs and pens like that with no toys or blankets. And not when the adult is sprawled out right there and the child clearly wants out.

Yes, I have helped raise babies and toddlers, developmentally delayed kids, puppies and foster kittens. A safe space is not the same as a cage.

Yeah. Correct. A safe space is not the same as a cage. Glad we're on the same page. 🙄

It’s still not recommended by trainers and vets to do it this way. It’s just a wrong setup. And created avoidance rather than calm and a sense of safety www.akc.org/expert-advic...

That’s great! I was more trying to share info not specifically for you. I just like to add sources, etc to my comments so it’s not just my opinion cuz I am not an expert, although I work with rescues and foster dogs

Okay let's put you in one. It's okay, it's only temporary. Right? How long would you stay in there?

Sometimes you got to do uncomfortable things. That doesn't mean he's in this for his entire life. This is no different from a cage at the vet. It's temporary.

It’s not something I would do but apparently it’s not cruel if done properly. www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwel...

That's going to highly depend on each specific implementation of it, it's not going to be a binary all cruel or not cruel. That page shows a picture of a dog with a mattress and a toy. The example in this post clearly is cruel.
