Mainstream radio presenters like Vanessa Feltz are perfectly happy to contribute, in their own small way, to the rise of the extreme far right. Her interview with me on LBC just now was chock full of lies. Calls herself a journalist. Really I wonder how they sleep at night.
She thinks her money will protect her. She thinks shouting RW views will protect her. If the Fascists ever get into true power, all they will see, is a Jew. Also see: Badenoch. Bravermann and all the other RW gobshites from minority groups. They could all do with reading some history.

I remember talking to her on her show about the Garden Bridge and she just kept dimming my mic then lying over the top of me. I went on after she had the scam artist Joanna Lumley on echo, who Feltz just wet herself over and allowed to - as a trustee of a multi million pound charity - lie repeatedly
What gets me is that we all could be refugees and asylum seekers at one point in time. I have read enough history books to know that. I also know people dehumanising minority communities are never on the right side of history. It's very depressing hearing this rhetoric.
I’ve turned on LBC before now and thought ‘who is this dreadful woman?’ On one occasion she was berating an LBC reporter who wasn’t presenting the political story with the amount of right wing bias to suit her. Now if I realise I’ve stumbled on her radio show I turn off immediately.

Well said. Columnists/commentators have largely replaced journalists because sensationalism is easier and cheaper to deliver than serious articles based upon in-depth analysis. However, they want us to believe that they are journalists as it bestows a sense of credibility to their misinformation.

They play trailers for Ferrari’s show on LBC. They always say “Nick Ferrari at breakfast ! Straight to the point!” and then some provocative Daily Mail style gotcha question ensues . He’s like Farage with a few extra chins striving to tickle the resentments of his audience.
VF is another example of a ‘clickbait’ journalist (for this, read ‘influencer’). And contribute they do to the Far Right, doing the bidding of those who pay them. I just wish they’d out the shoe on the other foot. I’m sick of it.

I decoded to cut out her lies, not to amplify them further. She claimed asylum seekers live in great comfort in true 4 star hotels, spend their time playing basket ball and being served afternoon tea. Screamingly obviously, this is bullshit.

Feltz has said she wishes Ozempic existed when she had gastric band surgery, as she’d gladly have used it for the rest of her life. At an average cost of £40 p/w, this is roughly the same as an asylum seeker gets, & they have to buy everything they need with that, INCLUDING food. I have no words.

You can get a double room for £47 at the hotel they use up here, and it's glamorous location is the side of the M62. I don't think it's likely to be 4-star with afternoon tea. I stayed in a hotel in Oxford a couple of weeks ago, and it was £48 a night just to leave my car in their car park.

Surely to be a journalist, you actually have to do original research, go out into the world, discover facts - make notes in your *journal*, compile these into verifiable and cohesive arguments that stand up to review and cross examination & then report them. She's not even a shit "journalist".

Asylum seekers in tents was an idea banded around by Dame Andrea Jenkyns of Reform. And she had such a lovely smile on her face when she said it. Well after all, asylum seekers are sub-human so they won't suffer will they?

What’s the rationale behind not letting asylum seekers to work whilst their applications are being processed?
The pretext is that if they're allowed to work, employment becomes a pull factor. Runs into difficulty given a) as Zoe points out, people come regardless and b) people on the move aren't generally aware of the specific entitlements awaiting them in different countries.

Listened to the interview following watching this video. The rhetoric of someone like Vanessa Feltz is dangerous. Using anecdotal snippets from someone she claims to trust over empirical research to garner an emotive reaction from people who agree with her is exactly how the lie permeates.
It was also telling that when you reached the point of explaining the way to reduce the negative impacts of asylum seeking migration is to actually lift the barriers on people in these circumstances being able to work - all of a sudden she had another call to take.

Create shanty towns in winter and flood the NHS with hypothermia cases. Either that or explain hundreds of deaths of women and children at Christmas time. It doesn't take much thought... just a wee bit. At least they'll all be in the tropical SE, climate will force it.
