The BBC are a joke. They don’t represent those who are forced to pay for them, and are far from being a public service. They are as corrupt as our government.

Because the BBC is run by egos who are also establishment/MAGA/Kremlin aligned. Farage is a far right psy-op made flesh. Transphobia/racism/misogyny/Brexit are all tools to hasten democratic decline and the fall of liberal values. This sickness is embedded in govt/security services/policing.

BBC is still stuffed with Tories: Davie, Gibb, Kuenssberg, Robinson, Fiona Bruce, Mason + others. Farage is the arsonist, not the Fire brigade. BBC does know this & must not take licence fee payers for fools by promoting a r/wing grifter who is paid by corporates to tell lies & deny climate change.

A good question which Lisa Nandy might like to answer. Without BBC Tories and their r/wing bias, editorial control, the UK might finally be Farage free and actually be able to receive impartial, independent news. Labour government must do better at resolving this and many other serious issues.

The article is good because it cleverly disects and exposes some of the nuanced anti Labour digs from Kuenssberg and Mason, who is, in my opinion, the Uriah Heep of political commentators. It is probably not an easy task to remove and replace the many Tories employed at the BBC but it must happen.

After reading this, I listened to how they reported it & I don’t see how you can criticise the presentation. They reported what he was claiming, then reported what Lab & Cons said about it. Reform is the leading party in polls at the moment so ignoring what they say however daft is not realistic.

They've been platforming Farage consistently for years. Ed Davey barely ever gets a mention and you wouldn't even know the greens exist. Meanwhile they have a tendency to demonise labour. Leading up to Corbyn's defeat they ran the antisemitism line every day for a year. R4Today is blatantly partial.

I'm not sure it matters who Farage is or how you report it. Random statements that have no bearing on anything other than the individual's ego shouldn't be headline news - unless you're looking for an excuse to platform the person. It's the editorial decision that's the issue here.

jul 21, 2025, 6:56 am • 4 2 • view

Steven Fielding @polprofsteve2024.bsky.social

Reform is currently the most popular party according to surveys. Crime is a big issue with most voters. This is claiming to be a big shift in policy. But they also reported criticisms about its uncosted and unrealistic nature. In this instance, the generally dodgy editorial judgement seems valid.

The bias is in the way they chose to report on his shenanigans years ago. They made him into a person who needed reporting on when he could have been laughed out of politics right from the start. You are using circular reasoning.
