I hear people (friends) talking about how there are so many 'illegals' in my town taking up all the hotel rooms and wandering about the streets. A post I saw this week that said there are 76 migrants being housed in 2 hotels, both on the outskirts. Maybe publish this info to counteract rumours?
I met someone from Switzerland where they have an integration strategy I was told, a home, introduced to the local community with requests for clothes and furniture, supported language courses with work. It sounds a little better than what we have at the moment if correct 🤷♂️

If you have claimed asylum, you are not an illegal immigrant. It's a legal status, recognised as such both nationally & internationally. They can only be deemed successful or not in their applications. The route by which a person arrives in a country where they claim asylum is irrelevant.

It depends on the location. London, large cities, usually yes, the counter protests are bigger. Seaside towns, brexity places, no, in those places the far-right have the upper hand.
Who was it that was out in force fixing the damage caused during the Farage riots? Not the white yobs. They were sleeping off their hangovers. It was immigrants. There were signs from the local mosque to come in, have some tea and discuss your concerns. The immigrants are more 🇬🇧 than the 🇬🇧
Just speaking with my partner exactly this. How come nobody is interested in interviewing all those Essex residents who want to live & let live And why does every commentator on the protests stress that most there are just “normal concerned parents” - who says and where’s the evidence? I’d doubt it
Many of us get on quietly with what you describe, but it's not trumpetted about or in the media. There should be stories about the welcoming groups for every Clarke like interview. Oh to hear more of the good and balanced!

One said 'they are wandering around'. Wandering around. Let's criminalise brown people walking, shall we?

I don't see it . I nothing but welcome for Ukrainians but I see none of what you describe for illegal immigrants from small boats
When you talk about illegal immigrants, you do realize that there is no other way for them to come to the UK don’t you? Even if their lives are in danger there is no such thing as a refugee visa.
Also if you are so keen to help them why don't you apply to house one or two of them in your home while they await processing
I don't think we can do that in our own homes due to UK asylum laws which demand that asylum seekers stay in the official accommodation sites (I think technically so govt knows where they are). They can't just lodge with other people. But I might be wrong on that.
Certainly I've offered a room to local refugees once they've got right to remain and while they're finding their feet once they're told they have to leave their accommodation.
Yes I do realise that but when I see a report showing coastguard picking them up from the water or boats they are all young males no sign of women or children. So to me the question is why is that ?

The reason for two of my young male asylum seeker friends coming here was to escape the political persecution they were facing in their home countries.
They were (separate countries, different circumstances) being threatened with intimidation, violence, death threats by their country's government and army in a way that their wives weren't at the time.
But one man's wife and child came over when he got right to remain. He is a highly qualified software engineer now working for a UK company.
(The men's families were also in danger due to the husband's legitimate political activities )
They're all Reform voters around where I live. I hoping Your Party, led by Jeremy Corbyn will take the non RW voters.
