This whole summer only one story has dominated our entire politics & it comes down to literally 30,000 people in hotels. Ridiculous. The government needs to get a GRIP it’s pathetic.

The LibDems are not a progressive party - they have voted against most of Labour's taxes on the rich (IHT for farmers for instance), oppose housebuilding, and are doing their best to gut the Employment Rights bill in the Lords. Just because they are pro-EU does not mean that they are progressive.

The pathetic failure is pandering to the noisy twitter/x mob rather than actually trying to fix the problem properly. The tories did the same and it is why they did so bad at the last election, Labour are going to go the same way unless they get brave and actually make real, measurable change.

The problem isn't asylum seekers, its talking about them on a daily basis, as if it is the only problem the UK faces. Labour will fail because they are trying to solve non existing problems rather than the actual ones, like failing public services, inequality, poverty and most of all facism.

100%. As absolutely despicable as Reform and their policies are, at least this stuff is what they've _always_ been crowing about. For Labour to essentially heel-turn and, through their inaction, legitimise the opinions and actions of those on the right, is arguably *more* despicable.
