Has the Wall Street Journal called disappearing people and building camps in swamps radical? Turning back the clock on medical research? Cutting off foreign aid, killing children? Turning the Oval Office into a bribe depository? Telling polluters to have at it? Any of that deemed radical?

THE SATURDAY ESSAY The Improbable Rise of Zohran Mamdani The presumptive Democratic nominee for New York mayor emerged from a world of privilege with radical politics and charm to spare.

Fuck the WSJ editorials. They are a propaganda arm of Rupert Murdoch.

Exactly. Even a label like “reactionary” - which more fittingly describes MAGA - actually doesn’t sound as insidious as “radical”

Also, how ludicrous is it to talk about Mamdani coming from a "world of privilege" because his parents are, what, a reasonably successful prof and a filmmaker? COMPARED TO THE NEPO M/BILLIONAIRES WHO ARE AT THE CORE OF THE WSJ'S READERSHIP? *ahem* plz pardon my capslock. Got stuck there for a sec.

You've listed the main editorial positions of WSJ for decades. They were actually for all those things. Unsurprisingly, no one has ever thought these people charmiing, and they are mighty jealous.

The paper that ran a feature calling $200 bed sheets and a $2,000 table lamp "not actually that expensive" criticizing someone for coming from a world of privilege. [gift link]

I bought a $200 sheet. It’s actually linen and I’m hoping it’ll last a super long time. The less expensive cotton ones kept wearing out where my husband’s gnarly toenails dug in (gross, I know!), so it might be less expensive in the long run. Fingers crossed.

If the $200 sheet doesn't work, maybe a $200 gift card for your husband to use on pedicures at the local man spa will. :-D
