Got my flu and Covid shot today and something once mundane felt like an act of defiance now.
Got my flu and Covid shot today and something once mundane felt like an act of defiance now.
I’m just getting over having Covid this week, for the 4th time. Must be nice
I am at CVS to get both mine right now!
💪 FIGHT THE POWER! 💪
Tomorrow Shingles and flu. Awaiting Novavax.
Agree. Maybe we should get tshirts or something. Going tomorrow flu and Covid.
I tried to get mine & mom's yesterday, but have to get a physician's prescription first. Pay for Dr. Visits, just to get this. Arizona.
No issue at CVS in MD today
For the last 5+ years, wearing a mask/N95 out and about—when you’re usually the only one—has also felt like an act of defiance.
I will likely get mine again in October or November.
👏👏
Got my shingles and flu. Gotta get the kids next.
Good call I need to go get mine.
Yep. I’m going today and I feel exactly the same way. Right after I get my jab I’m gonna look around for anyone in a MAGA hat, then walk up to them and shed all over them.
I can’t get scheduled with Walgreens or CVS in Montana if I add my teenagers to the appt, even though they have qualifying conditions. So now we’re just going to road trip to Spokane in a couple weeks. Trying to coordinate all the hoop jumping to get them here would be the death of me.
As a washington resident, look forward to seeing you. Do get your shot in Montana to prove that people in your district ARE getting shots. 💙
Spot on! I ate at a Mexican restaurant on July 4th and I felt like Paul Revere. I might do it again for Thanksgiving.
I got my flu shot yesterday. I had received an email from KP that it was available. I was in and out of the vaccine clinic in minutes. They didn't have the Covid vaccine available yet.
My fam too! CVS baby!
RFK, Jr.’s probably gonna be responsible for a huge increase in vaccinations! “Protest vacs”. Love it. 💙
Got mine today too! They said they've been busy all day.
Same! 👊💉💉👊
Same, but also HERCULEAN EFFORT. 2 days, multiple phone calls (1 extra fun one with one of the more conservative pharmacy techs snarling “HOW OLD ARE YOU?!” when I called to see if my 2nd, more detailed prescription had been received after they refused my first one) and 4 visits before I got jabbed.
Wow. I will say my CVS was as easy and straightforward as it has been in the past
CVS isn’t offering it for us in our hell state, but if we hadn’t gotten Walgreens to comply we were going to take a weekend road trip across state lines.
Same. I'm a little over 50 so don't know if that helped, but I was never asked what my condition was, just checked the boxes and narry a hitch. I do believe insurance type plays a role. I have private through employer. Daughter in her 30's has Medicaid and told she needs a Rx. 🤷🏼♀️ Same place too!
Was it the new formulation? CVS here in Oregon says they don’t have it yet.
I would have said “Old enough to have the freedom to make my own healthcare decisions.”
I was a liiiiiittle bit sassy, (“It doesn’t matter, my doctor sent in another prescription listing my exemption reason” and the lady yelled at me for being rude, confirmed they had it, yelled again about my rudeness, and hung up on me with great vigor. Glad she wasn’t the one to stick me, lol.
Holy moly. When it comes to people like that, I’m a petty bitch. I’d report her ass on any survey they sent me, Yelp, Google, etc. What a miserable human being. I’m sorry you had to go through that just to try and protect yourself but I’m glad you got the shot.
Got mine scheduled 👊🏻
Agree. I got the COVID vax on Wed.
Went to Wallgreens in MN today. No problems for my Covid and flu shots.
🫡
Seriously though, Good Job! Thanks for Protecting others!!!!
I’m due end of September
Ditto
✊🏻
Same here, today, and I had the same feeling.
Defiance??? Ookkkk
You know trump and the whole dictatorship got their shots too. It’s all bullshit. MAGA straw man stuff.
Going next week
Got mine at CVS today after work. Drove into NJ from PA. No issues and pharmacist was lovely. Unfortunately she didn't know when the pediatric doses were going to be available. I've got high risk kiddos, damnit!
Got my flu and Covid shot today and I had to travel to a neighboring state to do it, so, definitely an act of defiance. Massachusetts appears to have fixed or to be in the process of fixing that problem, but an old and well-intended law allowing pharmacies only to dispense vaccines in accordance
ACIP recommendations had unintended consequences when RFK Jr. postponed the meeting of the ACIP, so the updated 2025 Covid shots weren't recommended. In Massachusetts, pharmacies were not offering any Covid-19 appointments at the start of the week.
You are lucky. I live in MAGA land. No shots for us!
I got my Covid vax yesterday! That was my defiant act! I always get flu separately so I’ll get that next week.
Me too! Fuck them
If Floridians can’t get their Covid vaccinations then DeathSantis and Republican lawmakers shouldn’t get them either.
I got my covid shot 3 months ago in case I couldn’t come fall. I live in Cali so I’ll be able to get the new one in November/December. I’ll get flu as soon as Kaiser has it.
Just got pneumococcal pneumonia vax on Friday. Next week — COVID-19. Two weeks after that — flu and RSV. Feel like I did when when I got the very first COVID vax and got a sticker that said I was a vaccine warrior. Give me *all* the vaccines I’m eligible for — and an FU Bobby sticker every time.
Same. I went out online to see if I would even be able to do it in Ohio and since I could, I booked them for today.
My boys and I are going tomorrow, and I completely agree. Never in my life did I think that I would look forward to getting a damn shot, but here we are. 🖕off you 🧠 🪱 POS!
Same!
Got ours scheduled
Thank you 🫶
I did that yesterday and felt the same way.
Do you know what the vax situation is in MA?
Tuesday-- in TEXAS (hopefully nothing intervenes, but so far it hasn't)
Walgreens in Florida is waiting for permission, from the CDC vaccine panel, before they dispense the Covid vaccine that they already have in the pharmacy.
Not just Walgreens- Publix and CVS, too. 🤬
The historic and thorough incompetence of the current administration has accelerated our “race to the bottom.” Unfortunately, the new bar is pretty low!
I'm sched'd from next Wed--signed up for as many as they would let me online, will see if they will actually give me 4 or not. Looking forward to being able to raise a finger at RFK, Jr😎
I was able to get 4 yesterday. TDAP, Covid, Flu and RSV. 2 in each arm. Both arms a little sore today (and last night!) and I’m more tired than usual for a Saturday morning, but so far so good.
Thanks for that. I think I actually signed up for FIVE🤔 People in the military get a shitload of them at one sitting, so I want to be like them💪😜
My husband and son went through that. My son got 17 at once before a deployment!
🫣 17?!?!? that's gotta knock you back on your pins a bit
It did. He was not a fan.
I don't suppose they were allowed a day or 2 to recover...
I’m scheduled for next week, I’m doing the Flu at my PCP and the COVID at CVS. I usually do them both at CVS but I’m doing it different. Interesting my hospital doesn’t do them anymore, according to my PCP.
I know, right? Pew pew, too, from WV
Me too! F the man!
Here in Arizona you now have to have a prescription for the Covid shot, even if you are over 65.
I did too!!! And felt similarly:))
Same. 💪💪💪
⚡
Costco is doing vaccines here in PNW. Didn't have the covid one yet tho. Scheduled online, easy peazy.
A Rebel With A Cause 🫶
Going today! ✊
Congratulations! 👏
Same. I told my pharmacist that I was shocked that I wasn't told "Sorry, we can't give it" when I showed up for my appointment. He said "I'm surprised you can still get it, too." (And I'm no longer in SoCal, I'm trying to survive in a red state.)
Ooooh, same day? Your weekend may be rough. (Did that before- was not fun.)
I’ve done it before too. Not too bad.
Me too
Same. I was rejected by CVS online scheduler for not being 65, but Walgreens took me. I did click on "obesity" as an extenuating circumstance, but I doubt it would have mattered.
Lucky! My Walgreens tried REALLY hard to not jab us.
Things are really uncertain here in NH. I wonder if it was the individual store. There doesn't seem to be a consistent policy right now.
Probably. On our fourth visit the friendly non-Republican pharmacist was in, and it was smooth sailing.
Me too! CVS took my whole family including my 22 year old heathy daughter. Fuck you 🖕🏻Kennedy!
Same! Even muttered, “Eff you, Kennedy!” on my way out of the pharmacy.
I'm low key freaking out I won't be able to get mine.
It’s crazy, right?
Got mine at a UT Wallgreens today. Watched an elderly couple turned away for not having scripts. Pointing out that those over 65 don't need one didn't help them. I was asked if I'd had an organ trans or was immunocomp'd and answered, no. "Then you can't get the shot" Check the list-depression works.
Got my flu and COVID shots at CVS in Dallas, TX ,every appointment booked, pharmacist said after RFK jr yesterday they have been slammed!!
Good for you.
Right?!? Me, too. Got the latest covid vaxx today. Had an interesting chat with the pharmacist who inoculated me. I asked if she is giving a lot of vaccinations and she said yes, a lot. We spoke about polio and measles - I had childhood friends who had polio. Vaccines save lives!
Costco was offering both today when I went in but they only had the Moderna version. Unfortunately, Moderna‘s Covid shot makes me sick so I’m waiting for the newest Pfizer version. Hopefully in the next few weeks. 🤞
Oh I didn’t know Costco offered them, thanks
Did the same and feeling I’ll be somewhat protected in a couple of weeks against the new surge. Just upset that my adult children , their spouses and my adult children don’t qualify. 2 of them have had at least 3 bouts with Covid in the past
It IS an act of defiance.
Me too!
My 79 yo mom's journey for hers. 1. Safeway--unavailable. 2. Walmart--unavailable. 3. Costco--prescription req'd. 4. Walgreen's--prescription req'd. Apparently 79 yos need a prescription to set up an appt online. She'll be calling them on Monday.
What state?
Oregon. Portland metro area, Beaverton to be exact.
Surprising. But I’ve heard of problems there.
Yeah. Hopefully she has better luck on Monday with phone calls as she shouldn't need a prescription if she's 79 imo.
Expect this will continue for at least a bit longer in Oregon. I really hope Oregon follows Washington's lead which says all residents are eligible. www.oregonlive.com/health/2025/...
Frustrating. My mom has seen enough in family members to bunker down in these waves so she's pretty safe for now but she's already put in a message to her doctor & is hoping to get it resolved on Monday, one way or the other. Crazy that a 79 yo is hit w this though.
Makes no sense but I get it. Pharmacies want to stay out of trouble and I want them to stay in business. I also really worry about doctors being overwhelmed by requests for prescriptions. I've never stopped masking and absolutely want the latest vax which I'll be contacting my doc for soon.
Walmart in Milwaukie - Prescription required, but also they've run out for the weekend due to demand.
Yeah, I'm sure people are rushing to get it at this point. It's the new toilet paper but hey, it's more helpful than toilet paper during a pandemic.
Me too! 💪
