I litterally added 8, 4 oz bottles of vanilla to my late April stockpile purchase!

I just bought a quart of olive oil at a wholesale store.
A quart? I was gonna buy a five gallon jug! Just couldn't bring myself to lay out that much money all at once! I don't know why I decided vanilla counted as emergency provisions? I guess since i make most of my baked treats at home, thought if i couldn't anymore i might lose it!
I need to get more flour.
SAME!! I've been planning on stocking up on flour. I bake my own bread, make my own pizza dough and bake other sweet treats. I bought the most crucial supplies in April, have been adding other less urgent bits over time. Flour, oil etc
I’ve been doing focaccia lately.
Yummy! I've made some very delicious focaccia breads too. I do like them very much!
I’ve only done pizza dough and a sweet version. They are selling sourdough loaves at the market for $14
Lol right!! I can't afford to buy a decent loaf of fresh bread anywhere around here. One semi- big-semi- local bakery kind of runs the market here (fuck you Bread Alone!), so now I just bake my own.
Bread got ridiculous so I’m doing my own too. Even if it gets overproofed I still eat it.My neighbors love it when I gift them bread. I call it sourdough diplomacy.
I love that!!
Ohh that's beautiful! I'm still learning and I'm not that good at scoring... also I think my oven is kinda fucked- like i think it leaks hot air. But I'm in a rental and can't do much about it. Your bread looks fantastic!
Thanks I’m always learning too. I ran into someone at bulk food store that was milling their own flour and decided to try it too. I even ground my own cornmeal and the muffins tasted so good. It won’t do grits however.
Me too! I bake my own sourdough. I bought a mill too. I found a thrift non profit bulk store, and can get 10 pounds of KA for $7.99
Paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, plastic bags, floor wipe clothes .... VANILLA.
