Public service management experience is important to me versus private sector. The government is not a business, but even if you ran it like one, business comes in 2 major branches: things and information. Any MBA will tell you they need completely different mgmt styles.
Gov is def in the "information" category, but also essentially a non-profit and a utility. And a bank, which I like to remind folks means the "national debt" is mostly the bank's "deposits on file," very much unlike a household credit card debt, despite the limbic triggers of political ads.
