The thing is, none of this “echo chamber” stuff is really relevant when the “conservative voices” *are not listening* to anyone else, & arguing with them only wastes OUR energy because they are either making money, clout, or reinforcing their entire core identity by yelling loudest & listening least

To paraphrase a D&D buddy of mine, when it comes to it, 1. Bonus Action: Disengage 2. Action: Block seems to be the best combo. We should all take a level in Rogue after these elections.

Is it an "echo chamber," or am I just protecting myself from crazy people and angry Nazis? That's just self-care.

All that ever results from arguing with conservatives on social media is that you’re exhausted from listening & discussing in good faith while they ignore every point you make, scream bad-faith nonsense, & are jazzed up thinking they won. It’s not a debate. It’s a Nazi treadmill & you get nowhere.

Arguing with right-wingers is like the classic description of "pigeon chess"; they knock the pieces over, crap all over the board, and then strut around like they've won.

Yep. Long ago I heard something about that… a cautionary tale about not trying to wrestle a pig because: a) they like it and, b) all I’ll get is tired and muddy.
