I swear, in Maine you can FEEL the air change on August 1st. It’s still warm, even hot, but Autumn is preparing her Entrance.

Oh Gee. As a #Canadian guess my concern. Did you vote for this guy? That weighs heavily on if I give a f if you even live, I swear. Joe can F off. Update youtu.be/Q-kqXMIibQ8?... Original youtu.be/s1bkfe0L-pU?... #BoycottMAINE #BoycottUSA #BoycottAMERICA #TeamCanada #CanadaFirst #CanadaStrong
I am sure, if you are a good sentient clear eyed critically thinking person, regardless of statehood, you agree and appreciate Good people standing up to bullies. If not, not sorry in the slightest, FUCK YOU AMERICAN. #BoycottMAINE #BoycottUSA #BoycottAMERICA #TeamCanada #CanadaFirst #CanadaStrong
Here in Boston too! 👏
In Indiana it's Sept 1.
It’s the same in Idaho! You can just feel autumn coming
Down here in New York State, it waits until around August 15th to 20th. Definitely feels like fall this week.
Same in Alaska. I could feel the autumn 🍂 air this morning 🌄. ✌🏻🫂❤️
There's a palpable difference in how sunlight lands this time of year.
Speaking to a buddy this morning in NYC and he is saying the same; unusually cooler for August (60's f)............ bloody cold in NZ as winter heads out....... (13'c feels like 0'c).......... what am I doing today at work (?) resetting winter into Spring/Summer.
I noticed this in Maryland a few years ago more towards the end of August though. It's a smell on the wind that cuts through the blanket of steam that's been in place in Maryland since June. A herald of the fall that thrills me right around my personal New Year's day.
That must very nice.
17 days later she posted this.
I mean I’ve been thinking about it the whole time but I have a six year old and I had a book deadline so like…it’s like time zones only life zones
Here in GA it will be 93° tomorrow with a heat index of 104°. I miss Michigan.
This Michigan granny had to break out a sweatshirt. 66° and rain after weeks around 90° and I felt cold.
I miss wearing sweatshirts in the fall. When we lived in Oscoda, Marquette, and Kalamazoo, we could start wearing them in mid-late August. Here, maybe January and February. Not always, though.
We are under a heat advisory in Alabama but next week, the weather is supposed to be better
Same here. We're supposed to be in the 80s and low 90s next week. I sure hope so. We can't handle another $500 electric bill.
And then that’s, like, a week, and then winter kicks in full blast by Labor Day😏
Not in California til oh maybe November
Yes, same here in Michigan, and I feel like we lose 10 minutes of daylight daily.
We don’t get that on the gulf until October.
🥰
This is like Texas November 1st 😭
Even in CA ... Aug rolls around & the lighting becomes significantly different - I call it the pre-Fall hue & this is the warmest time of year for us. Crazy ...
If you see her, can you tell her that Minnesota misses her?
I had the same Vermont feeling yesterday…..
Mmhmm
I told my dad last week, “the leaves sound like fall.”
I’m on Long Island and it started to feel like fall yesterday but I won’t be fooled because it’s been known to sneak back up towards the end of month. Fall weather would be welcome at this point. I’m dying to open the windows and let the fresh air in!
It’s the light. I felt it a couple of weeks ago. Days are getting noticeably shorter.
It's still over 100 down here in Texas, and our government is even worse than the weather. Maine is sounding pretty good these days.
Same in the BC southern interior, its still sunny but its not nearly as hot as it was at the start of the month.
Western new York. The crickets are my signal that Fall is on it's way
Same in Michigan 😒 although I welcome the fall, it’s the winter 😢
In the West, I love how the color & brightness of the sun changes It's still REALLY hot here & without nearly enough rain this summer 😞
Boston just got a whiff of Autumn today. Cool, crisp, sunny but not hot. Lovely.
I live in SoCal and I started noticing the same last week.
The air changes from a clear blue tinge to a yellow one.
Wow, because it’s just starting to feel like summer here in Venice Beach, CA.
tomorrow.
It hit western Massachusetts yesterday.
I miss living in the North for many reasons. Here in Nashville, TN, it remains hot and muggy up until mid to late October. Then, it cools off some, which brings tornadoes. No joke. We had a tornado in December of 2023. Then, there is MAGA. 'Nuff said.
I remember Nashville had a tornado on Halloween back in the 90's.
Yup. Sounds right save for the fact that it is more common now.
Yea, Tornado Alley has spread out over a wider path than in the past. I remember growing up in KY we rarely had tornados now there is one ever year going through a town on the western side of the state.
The maples in my Connecticut backyard are changing color
Mija, down on the Borderlands, we saw the angle of the light change, moving into autumn. It's how we know the seasons. The humdity is up, there are rainclouds at the fringes of the sky - and the light has changed. It's nearly autumn.
Hahahahahhaha
Can’t come soon enough! Been a very hot and humid summer.
I am envious. Yesterday in Houston was 100 degrees AND at least 3 massive thunderstorms.
I had an admiration for Maine until your Senator Joe Martin wrote an unhinged letter to Canadian politicians. Totally changed my perception of Maine.
Time to switch out the tires already?
This closet full of hoodies and shackets is calling my name…
Same here! The fall is my favorite season for that reason alone! I love to feel cozy!!!
Noticed the same change here in Western NY about 1 week ago.
I can get behind that. I'm in CA, where we haven't had the oppressive heat this year, and walking my dog a couple days ago it definitely had an autumn feel coming on. Still summer, but she's growing tired......
I'm in Penticton BC Canada and we certainly feel her too. I welcome the cooler nights, and less tourists 😂
Autumn is the finest season of the year, for me at least. ❤️🍂
Here in Pennsylvania too. The mornings are cool instead of sticky, and it’s dark out when I wake up.
In PEI, it's right after Old Home Week which ended on Saturday. It's the clouds 😁
Same in the Rockies, foothills and Front Range in Colorado.
I can feel it in the air. Cannot wait for fall. 🍂
Central Maine began this day with 51 degrees and is currently at 69. Leaves are falling and there are some reds, yellows and oranges in the trees.
No in between, no "phase in" just like walking through a door.
It just changed here in northern Illinois an hour ago. A huge storm system is moving through, shoving summer out and bringing in fall. I am SO happy. It's going to be in the 50s Wednesday night. No more 90-100 degree temps. No more sickening heat/humidity indices. Goodbye summer, and good riddance!
Fall in Maine...one of my dream destinations!
I'll be there and in New Hampshire 8/30-9/3 and can't wait to see it a second time. Portland, ME is hands down the most beautiful place I have ever seen.
Please be sure to post pictures!!!
Yes indeed and the summer really flew by. I’m hoping these Dahlias will make it to October
Love me some Autumn. 🎃 🥧 ☔
You can feel it in Massachusetts around the 15th.
i was just back up in maine this weekend, and it was amazing having the temp go down to 63° overnight. one of the things i miss most.
Heading to Booth Bay for September. Looking forward to it...
That happens in late August here in Massachusetts. Seems to be starting early this year.
My brother lived on Branch Lake, and he used to call August, fall’s tease.
I'm on westcoast of Canada and I always feel Autumn making her entrance by a few cool streams of air snaking in between the hot.
Same here in Ma. Cool mornings and nights
Yup. You can feel it. Slightly earlier nights, slightly cooler nights, barely perceptible but clear as a bell to those who have lived here long enough.
In Europe used to mourn the end of summer, and now it's a blessed relief.
Nova Scotia, too. Normally it's like somone clicks a switch to coincide with turning the calendar page. 😉 But this year we got a heat wave for the first two weeks of August. The switch was clicked last night. Lol.
August 10 th.
