I wouldn't be surprised if the court hearings starting on Tuesday were in camera, no audience. Maybe only journalists of journals they like.
No journalists and the court transcript that says he pleads guilty and requests a swift execution while waiving his right to change his mind will be all over the media.
Court proceedings are required to be open to the public, even arraignments, with very very few exceptions. I'm sure security will be tight for in-person attendance, but there's usually a video feed for the press, and there may be a public video or audio feed.

It likely isn't a politically powerful law firm, but rather a skilled criminal defense lawyer (or two or three, not uncommon in 1st degree murder cases with death penalty options). This is their bread-and-butter work.
