You have a CDC condition or risk factor, I guarantee it. There’s like a million of them. Are you anxious? Depressed? Overweight? Physically inactive? (Compared to Michael Phelps, we all are!) Try with a different pharmacy, and if they accept self-attestation, just tell them you’re high-risk.
Thanks! They’ve shortened the list of conditions. But I’m sure I can get one through my private MD. Just makes me angry as I know a lot of younger people without insurance, or $ for MD who probably won’t be able to get the boosters.
I know, it’s absolutely terrible. And for no reason other than that the people in charge are callous idiots.
But — just to be clear — even if you don’t have a condition on the shortened list, unless the pharmacist demands to see a doctor’s note or something, just lie. Say whatever you need to say. Protecting your mother’s life is more important than jumping through hoops set up by sociopaths.
