How do you think companies pay for the technology costs? It either needs to be subscription model or advertising....you get to choose

Depends on if it's an official forum or a fan forum. I used both for many years, never had to pay a subscription, and the most ads I ever saw was like a banner at the bottom of the screen if anything. But please, tell me how those are still around to this day despite not existing to make money
