My friend Jimmy Evans (d. 2011) played bass with Conway Twitty & his Rockhousers in the 1950s. (Jimmy later joined Ronnie Hawkins & the Hawks, eventually replaced by Rick Danko). Jimmy with CT & with me in 2006.

Conway’s dad: Ferry pilot Floyd D. Jenkins was originally from Friars Point, Mississippi, and moved to Helena in 1943 to pilot the ferry that ran between Helena and Trotters Point. (Ferry service ended in the early 1970s) (Photo from Helena’s Phillips County Museum)
