Well I never... a rainbow appeared before sunrise, created just by the light of an orange and red glow in the east. There's a first time for everything. I've certainly never see such a thing before.

Beautiful. Reminds me a bit of Arctic Solar Halos. Due to a mist of tiny ice crystals in the arctic air, light from the sun can get refracted an mirrored, appearing in the sky in multiple locations, including an "Under-Sun" below the horizon, which is only visible when flying, or on high elevation.

I saw a moonlight "rainbow" last night. It took me a while to work out what the arch shape in the sky around midnight was. There were no perceivable colours to it.
