This is 99% of the time bogus due to the fact that police return fire or people hear 5-10 shots as 30-50 shots. all these kinds of cognitive errors are so common as to be nearly universal. it's no one's fault. we're bad at this.

I think that one ISIS shooting in san Bernardino, the husband and wife couple, is the only instance I can think of (outside of gang related 'mass shootings', which is generally characterize more as gunfights)
