I absolutely agree with this. My entirely unevidenced hypothesis is that this began about 25 years ago when affluent middle class professionals who didn't know any working class people suddenly started seeing the ones who had been put on reality tv and went "oh my, that's what they're like!"
The Marxian working class are that fuckin' trans barista, or more urgently, the trans techie who keeps every server in Christendom running. But bourgeois communist see those people as "bourgeois like me" because they went to the same university and Biff the milionaire car dealer is a proper prole.
