Take a look at every poll from fall of 2014 and what every dem in a swing seat was saying about Obama; he was more unpopular in late 14 than Biden was in late 22

Not to say that Obama stayed as unpopular for as long as Biden did - I think it’s pretty clear by now that Biden had structural problems that Obama did not; but the late 2014 polling is a good reminder for anyone who thinks Obama has some magic he can deploy

Obama is a sharp guy; he was surely trying everything he could think of to prevent his approval from collapsing as voting was happening in late 2014; didn’t matter It’s not like Obama and Dems didn’t have a good story to tell in late 14, either; objective conditions had improved massively
