When you live rural and one of your kids is both accident-prone and prone to hypochondria, you're in for lots of late nights trying to determine if you're driving an hour each way to the nearest ER (thus removing any hope of sleep) or waiting until the morning (which could annihilate your work day).

Oh no! I hope this is just a possible scenario and not real life tonight.

Tonight's fiasco could be anything from a slightly sprained ankle (which probably really did hurt) with a bunch of extra enthusiasm to avoid chores, or a fracture (which would mean canceling my entire workday to drive 2.5 hours to Portland). The morning shall be informative.

I had a similar experience with 18 just 6 days before we left to take him to college!! Thankfully, he just sprained his knee, no tears or breaks. Hopefully, the same for your kiddo. It's fine to wait until tomorrow for this, imo.
