I literally practiced on a manual typewriter for my 8th grade summer typing class.

The manual one was at home. The school had an electric typewriter.

I got my mom’s manual typewriter from the 1950’s, but was not born until the 1970’s. In the 80’s, I thinkwe did typing (“keyboarding”) on electric, and switched to some computer terminals for “word processing.”

I used my dads manual typewriter to type my term paper in 1984. Any errors meant starting the page over

Oh man. The dumb ink erasers made holes in the paper! Although by the 80s I guess we had whiteout.
