The US is a nation and “Americans” are legal citizens. Native Americans were the first peoples in North America. After statehood, NA were treated as non-citizens. Why the US made treaties w/ tribes and went to war against them.Their original claims did not automatically make them citizens.

Native Americans as a group were not granted legal citizenship until after WWI. This was after they had served in the military and multiple wars. It was decided they had “earned” citizenship. Being born here, prior to this, did not necessarily make them citizens.

Double irony is the fact that many people coming from Mexico are also indigenous descendants whose homelands included what is now the American SW, Texas, and California. Who are the real posers in that situation? That part of the US used to be Mexico.

Just because you stole the biggest election in the nation doesn't mean you can call yourself an American. Only the most unAmerican among us tell people they can't be here.
