That’s the thing. The church didn’t create a Dark Age in most of Europe. The fall of Rome created a Dark Age in Britain which was already poorly represented by Rome anyway. There is no Italian medieval dark age, nor is there a Spanish or French Dark Age, let alone a Greek or Egyptian Dark Age.

Not dark age per se, but the church still went through and destroyed like a lot of ancient texts. Or what we would consider today, ancient texts And yeah I mean I Greece n Egypt are obviously different But they aren't really on the atlantic like that

Most of the Great Minds of the Middle Ages were Platonists in either an Aristotlean material manner (Islam) or a Neoplatonic theological manner (Catholic).
