I remember standing in lines in a field to get the polio and smallpox vaccine. Now in my 70’s I thought I worked with the last of those who had arms/legs with stunted growth and function. I was grateful my children and grandchildren would never suffer.

I definitely remember the days of vaccination in primary school: we kids out of our classes and all aligned in the corridor ready for the lump of sugar with a few drops of a cherry red liquid No one, no parent or else ever dreamt of raising objections I think the sight of those fallen ill was enough
