That's been the case in many areas of climate science, but I had yet to encounter it in extreme event attribution and on the subject of heat wave projections in particular.

Safe assumption now probably is all predictions in every aspect of climate is an underestimation. We'll all be pleasantly surprised if/when we discover an aspect that isn't - something I'd like to see.
