People rejecting anything cringe is honestly one of the pipelines to fascism, because they care more about never being uncomfortable than someone else's dignity or rights.

We had a brief moment in like 2020 or so where we collectively realized that cringe culture is bullshit and being cringe is free Was that just a brief moment of clarity by one sub population after a lifetime of running away from cringe

I mean, I'm pretty sure that everything now is basically a backlash to that. The average person decided that self-righteous hypocrites are more annoying than hateful bigots, probably from being taught not to trust the feelings mentioned above.
