I agree. I was referencing countries like Australia where if you don't vote it's like a tax. They have around 90% voter turn out. The fact that we have no more than 70% turn out for presidential elections with the average at 60%, and routinely half of that for all other elections is really bad.

Agreed, its awful. But there are very solid reasons for that disengagement, even beyond voter suppression. Even WITH a new VRA, and a new government that actually wanted to make things better for the people & not the rich, it would take ten years? Twenty? Before people trusted it enough to hit 90%.

I'm not sure how long it would take to neuter the influence of billionaires. It would take a massive flushing of both parties plus possibly adding a third party that starts out by not taking contributions over $500 from individuals and no PAC money. Going more socialist may also be needed.

I mean, no need to twist MY arm with "go more socialist". Honestly I think the billionaires should just be imprisoned, their assets frozen and redistributed, etc etc. Just shatter their power. We don't have time to wait. But that's getting ahead of ourselves.

We're on the same wave length concerning billionaires. We could legitimately argue that they accumulated their wealth by stealing from masses via tax breaks and price gouging. We have every right to take it back.
