Anti-vaxxer charlatans
This is probably not going to kill children — 85% of kids get MMR and varicella separately anyway. The issue is that it’s a decision that is contrary to the evidence presented.
The Hep B vote tomorrow is the big one for parents (and also people who care about kids) to watch. Follow my colleague @bcrodriguez.bsky.social for more info.
It’s also quite likely to make insurance coverage for the tetravalent shot really confusing for pediatricians and patients alike.
AHIP (the trade org for health insurance companies) sent out a press release saying they’re basically going to ignore whatever gets decided at ACIP and will go off of the pre-September 1 schedule for coverage. It’s unclear what they’ll do next year but it should be fine for the near future.
Here’s the press release, for those curious.
