Standalone show set after DS9. How fucking hard would that be? No, instead we need a sequel to the spinoff of a prequel (which was a reboot) which is also a prequel. And the other show which is a spinoff of the prequel/reboot once it became a sequel/reboot. Exhausting.
Heck, even a Sulu and Tuvok show on the Excelsior would be preferable to this.
That would have been amazing. So much deadpan sass.
What I really want is a show about the Fenris Rangers on the edge of the Federation frontier doing their thing and helping out worlds that slip through the cracks.
My dream trek show would be right after the dominion war and focusing on the reconstruction period ala post WW2 europe. DS9 totally upended the status quo of the universe and we never got a real followup. Instead we get more klingon and borg bullshit.
