I discovered The Wire through his personal blog c. 2006 & that bought him A LOT of goodwill. He’s burned off plenty in the ensuing two decades, mostly since I joined Twitter in fall 2020 & more for his trolling than what I think are his sincere views.
He’s been burning it off faster lately & being wobbly on trans issues & maybe actually kinda transphobic IRL is the main cause for that. He still doesn’t strike me as anywhere close to being a republican, certainly in the GOPs current mode, but he has become both more centrist & less interesting
