Is there a feed/list/starter pack of Appalachian Horror writers? For the record, I am the biggest super weenie hut jr when it comes to horror and can't read it, but I love to know the lore behind it and want to have a list of authors I can direct people who are interested in it. πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸ©Έ #booksky

maybe try Night Watch by Jayne Phillips (the 2024 Pulitzer winner) it’s gothic with fairly light horror elements, set in 1870s West Virginia (warning for graphic sexual assault scene)

You might really like "Smothermoss" by Alisa Alering. Appalachia, horror-adjacent rather than horror I would say. (I don't read horror either).
