Where are the wheels? i always find it weird when I go hiking and in the middle of the woods there is some random price of 100 year old equipment

Like i know its bc thst forest used to be a field bc there are eno old groth forests in most of the northeast. But still weirds me out

Great Smoky Mountain NP has an unreal amount of old artifacts scattered wayyyy deep in the woods it’s so wild. Last time there we found a full on mill like 8 miles in that still had a 100-ft long trough and millstone/waterwheel intact. Totally unmarked and everything
