I guess that’s the real issue, WHEN will they be ready? Two years? Five? The way this is progressing at least five, right?

Hopefully more like 2-3, but 5 is possible. Takes time to do it right. 19/88 showed up at the end of the last rebuild, which made it seem like it happened quick, but that was only after years of building up the system before they were drafted to make it work.

Bill Wirtz passing away created the dynasty. They would never have signed Hossa or Campbell if he were still around. This rebuild will be six or seven years. Way too long in my opinion. I watched since the 80s and I know the early 00s were awful, but this is feels worse.

They overpaid Campbell by a lot (Huet too, same summer) that was the only way they got him to sign…and was also one of the main reasons that 2010 team had to be dismantled. It was a bad contract. Hossa was the final piece…Marner ain’t Hossa, and this team isn’t one piece away from contention.

OMG, Huet. I completely forgot about that dude. I just need to see some glimmer of hope and last year wasn’t it. Hopefully this year is better.
