Lots of misleading talk about the 2020 Susan Collins-Sara Gideon race in the last few days. Some perspective: 1) Collins didn't 'trounce' Gideon. She won by 8.6% which would've fallen to ≈ 5% if an RCV calculation had been done. Compare to 2014 when she won by 37%. Dramatic change. #MEpolitics 1/2
2) 'Gideon outspent Susan Collins 2-1' is extremely deceptive because Collins's billionaire-fueled super PAC and other outside groups (e.g. the Chamber of Commerce) spent tens of millions of dollars on efforts to re-elect her. So there was no big funding asymmetry. That's false. #MEpolitics 2/2
The big guy, Platner has potential.
Democrats need to find their strongest candidate and support that person. All hands on deck with no in-house fighting. Susan must go! She can move to Florida and live in disgrace.
