Yeah more likely a Roman habit/hang-up… Having a preference for female company is often just a reflection of higher social intellect… Men often descend into ritual posturing when alone in large groups. With intellectual weakness most often being expressed in ritualized aggression.

A theory not established as pure fact… it’s actually a logarithmic chance between carbon based species ~ very rare but fertile hybridization has obviously happened in the evolutionary record… Not knowing whether or not the deity is carbon based makes any theories all equally speculative….

My best guess would be that fertile hybridization occasionally occurs along a matrilineal line with a female hybrid still being fertile w/ one of the two close species from which she descended…(both? rarest?) thus introducing another species’ dna into the descendant matrilineal line.

Comparing human attempts at hybridization to the long evolutionary path kinda suggests the problem is in the human knowledge & not the evolutionary probability of evolution by hybridization over a period longer than homo Erectus has been around to observe, much less document hybridization…

By the time they even started recording extant species more than they could count had came & gone extinct… We count backwards now from the collision & try to figure out how the watch had worked… Only maybe we got some fusion going on too… two into 1, and 1 into 3… not strictly branches… 🧬

We still only best guess at the mechanisms by which evolution has occurred… I lean towards multiple pathways multiplied by their variant interactions… No single explanation.
