They might ask themselves what would happen afterwards. The GOP confirming to have made a huge mistake by backing this crazy guy would likely destroy the party. They have no vision to stick to other than the authoritarian.

Bottom line is when tRump dies, so does the cult of personality. When that happens, anybody and everybody even remotely associated with him will be left holding the bag. If the courts don’t get them, the public will. The GOP is cooked and so are the elites….

I agree 1000%. He is the head of the snake. Cut the head off, the snake dies. No one is afraid of Stephen Miller. Nobody is afraid of JD Vance. Or MTG. None of these guys have any leverage at all once the head of the snake is dead. They will be left blowing in the wind with nothing. I can’t wait!

Sorry, but this explanation sounds too convenient to me. If it were only for one man, then why are not many more resisting. Trump is rather a symbol of a movement which is on the way for much longer time. He is only executing what tea party and others were not able to. It is deeper than Trump!

The cult of personality created the opportunity for long-held Republican wet dreams since the 1930s to come into the open. Origin story of modern GOP: reactionary response to expanding civil rights to people of color, women, gays.... GOP politics requires someone (else) to blame.

It is also about the hunger for cruelty. Why are so many people embracing this hatred against other humans? This is the key question. It‘s about humanity and decency that seems to have been lost - and about all individuals taking responsibility. Amen.

In their recklessness they’ve whipped back the curtain and exposed how deep the corruption and rot within our government goes. Reform across the board after this is a guarantee. Loopholes they’ve all enjoyed will close. Laws will be enacted. The party is over for them and it’s long overdue.

Through various administrations, we relied on norms to administer & govern our constitutional republic. We discovered that norms are not laws & that both bend to bullies and wealth. The current administration openly flouts conduct that breaks laws instituted after Nixon administration's exploits.

The GOP is effectively a coalition of the Republican rump and MAGA. If the rump senators vote with the dems, that coalition is over and you have a three party congress.

Ok. And what will members of these parts of the coalition do afterwards? All I‘m saying is that none of them has even a clue. No vision, no strategy. Besides fear, this is another reason why they can’t resist Trump. They have no answer for what‘s next.

The GOP has been running psyops on the base for nearly a half-century to get us exactly here. They ont vote to impeach TFG, nor would the Senate GOP covict him. AOC already introduced Articles of Impeachment, and Johnson changed the rules so it won't ever see the floor for a vote.

The GOP is a completely media driven outfit now. They use fox news and RW 📻 for their cues. They have 0 intentions of MODERATION because their media apparatus is geared to push endless culture wars.
