I’ve got 100 things I should be doing but kiddo and I snuck away to see The Fantastic Four. My first time in a movie theater in seven years. It feels strange doing something normal.

1. Hurry. It's not doing well. 2. I went SOLELY to see the '60s space-age aesthetic AND Galactus on a big screen, w/LOW expectations for the rest. Yet it was the BEST time I'd had at a movie since GotGv1. It's SO smart & SO good. But note: It's NOT a superhero-action flick. It's more sci-fi drama.

That's great news... but that could also be part of the hype machine. WB has done this same thing. "Superman Returns 2" in the works! "Affleck still committed to Batman movie..." that & more said when they knew it was all a non-starter. Marvel is also stuck—the 4 are a big part of Doomsday!

I've seen a lot of people saying "Fantastic Snore", and i know a few people who've felt the same, b/c they all thought it was gonna be a big superhero action movie, and after all the raucous (& frankly mostly non-essential) action of \S/man, I get it. Marvel, per usual, didn't set expectations well.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago. My voucher said I could only go in the week. So that's my excuse for procrastinating.Off to see the Naked Gun tomorrow.
