well fudge i live in Kansas and pay income tax, property tax, sales tax, yearly fees and taxes for the cars, DL renewal $$ every 6 years…

Agreed. Transplanted NYer in Florida. The difference isn’t the DMV stuff, it’s the toll roads. Can’t really go anywhere in FL without paying tolls every few miles. It adds up.
