Yes you do. But Iβm sure you can go through each agency (like credit agencies) and lock them.

No, Experian has a free service and you can lock your credit there for all 3 reporting companies. You can unlock it if you're applying for any loan and then lock it again. It also offers alerts for many things if it detects them. Even on the dark web. Other companies do the same. Look for 1 you want
