Housing prices would’ve jumped by $15k immediately? Im not sure this is an accurate statement.

If you, as a homeowner in America, go to sell your property, and you KNOW there are buyers with an extra $25k, you're raising your asking price by $15k. We're a capitalist country. Home price must always go up.

Only ~25% of buyers would have gotten down payment assistance and they have always been competing against cash buyers/investors. And this ignores the initiatives to build more starter homes. Are you against all government grants or just this one because it wouldn’t have helped you, personally?

You’d have a point if everyone got the $. Did Pell Grants single handedly raise college tuition, or do they help low income students afford the already high tuition? Do food stamps/WIC increase the price of food or help poor people buy already expensive food. Rent/utility assistance?

Yes, in fact, Joe Bidens votes in 1978,1992,and 2005 led directly to the current student loan debt crisis. So, yes, Pell grants and increased access led to rising tuitions.

Do you know how much Pell grants are and how much students can get? Your two sentences statements contradict each other. You should look into the reasons a little more deeply. A decrease in public funding shifted the burden from the general public to the individual student.

Dangit. Tried to reword the first sentence. It should say do you know what Pell grants are and how much students get? I’ll tell ya. The average is $4500 and the max is $7400 per year. Most schools apply the grant before the amt of loans so students won’t take out more than needed in loans.

What does any of this have to do with the government giving disadvantaged people grants to level the playing field? If anything, the government giving grants so people don’t have to take out more loans would help prove your point. If you had one, that is.

Your assertion that more access leads to higher prices is inaccurate as well. Education is one of those things that gets cheaper at scale. Total cost goes up but per pupil cost goes down as you add students.
