Candy corn is ok by itself, but is so good when eaten in the exact ratio of 2 roasted, salted peanuts with one piece of candy corn.

Any kind of nuts are probably good, but dry roasted peanuts are the best. I’m a purist, but you might like pretzels or m&ms in it.
