Look. What I say to ice cream bastard is this. We've cut benefits in real terms Slashed emergency grants Frozen house building Booted thousands out if emergency housing But, we're building loads more prison beds. In the meantime, they should sleep in cars parked outside your shops.

Here's my proposal on affordable housing. Switch to land value based rates. Move away from tax settings that penalise development and reward landbanking. More homes being built, more housing supply, more affordable rents and better quality homes. alexbakerwellington.nz/priorities/1
