I would take Pritzker any day of the week over Newsom. Haven't seen this particular negative spin on him anywhere on this site, personally.

I've seen some lamentation about some of his trans bills but the vibe I've been reading lately is "Pritzger is the current compromise" but I'm from Illinois, so

Also from IL so I'm biased ig. I'd be interested to hear about the trans issue, he's signed several pro-trans bills iirc.
