I'm not in Ukraine & my sleep is only disturbed by mosquitos. From that perspective I feel some relieve that Putin doesn't give an inch. A few weeks ago I was very afraid that Trump would press relief of sanctions with the slightest suggestion of good will from Russia. 1/2

What did Trump accomplish at all? The Ukrain war? No results, probabably made it worse. The tarrifs? Mostly withdrawn without positive effect for the US. The deportations? Stranded in legal battles. His only positive result is that EU and Canadians are less likely to vote for rightwing politicians.

It’s worse, the US lost its triple A debt rating. The US bond market was depressed and still getting worse. Investors are turning to other equity trading markets as the US is no longer a save haven. The value of the dollar has dropped and countries are turning to other currencies to do deals.
