Bluesky moderation suspending trans people for wishing ill on the members of a hate group who are actively working to eradicate us shows us what a morally bankrupt crock of shit civility is and how it only serves to punish victims and protect victimizers. Bluesky should be ashamed of themselves.
Their moderation staff is absolutely targeting outspoken trans people, in addition to Palestinians and people who are outspoken about the genocide. They're being secretive about their internal guidelines, but it's an obvious secretiveness that seems intended to demean and intimidate people.
And to think, there was a hot minute where they had people convinced they were the good version of Twitter.

This is no way to do any kind of moderation, because punishing victims because an easy exploit for bad actors who don't care if they get suspended as long as they get to take someone down with them and will hop on to the next burner account(s) and their next victim. This was rife on Twitter.
Organised and targeted harassment of trans people, often coordinated in private DM groups or off-site, in the hope they'd snap back at the abuse and say something actionable so they could then mass report their victim with those multiple burner accounts. Bluesky has seemingly learned nothing.

And normally I would suggest that trans people be careful about what they say because of targeted mass reposting, as I would rather you all kept access to your social media, your friends, your online communities, and protect yourselves. But what Bluesky is doing here is nothing short of malfeasance.

i think i made an account on it some years ago (idk how long... feels like 4-5?) with hexbear, it was low amount of posters and a weird format i couldn't conceptualize. i can't remember why i didn't stick with the Big wooly mammoth site...
The learning curve is much steeper and without an algorithm to spoon feed content you only see posts by people you follow so it seems quiet until you find enough content to follow.
