Knightmare on the Amiga Absolutely scared the everliving hell out of me. Don't think I'd ever realized a game could be scary until I played this.

Space Hulk on A500. I still remember freaking out when the Genestealer came out of the wall right in front of me :)
Totally forgot about that games style. I think we had a demo disk of it on amiga. Didn't get far as we couldn't work out how to hit stuff well.
Ooh okay so I have two-the OG Resident Evil and there's one specific moment in the early game of Silent Hill that actually haunts me, like I was maybe 11 years old and I opened this gate in game, it sounded like it was irl and it freaked me out 😆
Silent Hill got me for sure. The fog, the static on the radio, the ambient sounds.
it looks cool as hell ngl
Wait. Is this based on the show of the same name?
I believe it is, if the title font and intro are anything to go by. Unfortunately, I don't think Tregard appears in it at all. Feels like a missed opportunity to hear him go "Ooh Nasty" at the game over screen youtu.be/77eb1SYXgek
Oh its on the Amiga? I might have it on my Minimig! I'll have to check this out. And you are right. Tregard makes everything better. "Surely not everything" Oh. Everything.
The theme song to this game is burned into my brain. I found the game kind of annoying with how you took damage if you walked into walls though.
I was always an easy mark Doom scared me. The zombies in Quake gave me nightmares. If I had played Super Mario 3 by then, the sun terrified me lol
I’ve never heard of this but I fuck with the style
Mine was definitely Dark Seed. I still have the image burned into my brain when you look into the mirror and you see the other world, which is just HR Giger art, but I was about 8 years old and terrified me
This image is a mood
I remember those goblin looking fuckers in Knightmare, flashing by your eyes as you used the cart to go up and down. Terrifying. This shot in the intro cutscene of the OG Alone in the Dark is still the champion of all adolescent scares.
An all time classic for sure.
