Each and every one of us needs joy in our lives, we need art and culture and expression and levity and it mightn't feel as important as talking about what is threatening us at any given time, but it absolutely is and we all need it to not just live but to thrive. Let us all be utter doofuses.
Seeing joy gives me hope. I need it, both in myself and for others. Whenever I feel stifled by the hate, I try to get out and see folks living. Maybe go to a space to see other queer or trans folk. Maybe make myself a nice meal. Maybe go out dancing. We need the joy. It's too much otherwise.

Whatever it is, whatever brings you happiness, it's important. It's essential. Talk about the art you love, your hobbies, even if it might seem trivial, it's important to express that side of yourself and not let everything else going on drown it out.
We need to remind ourselves why it's worth saving this world
Look at this goofy idea I had for personalized amusement which caused me to buy a pinback-button-making machine and hundreds of supplies. And the ideas keep coming! I am becoming ridiculous.
This is why I get angry when folks try to drag the real world into online spaces specifically crafted for temporary escape.
No, we don't need joy. Entirely possible to live without it. I don't mind people being doofuses but I do mind inappropriate generalizations.
People who want joy? Sure, harm nobody else and I don't have a reason to care. But, y'know, leave me out of it. I want zero of joy and zero of people who want me to feel joy. My emotions are fine the way they are and equally valid.
I actually had to make an effort to post more doofy stuff because I was starting to fill my own timeline with doom and gloom and the latest (and ever-endless) crimes of the Cockjerk Orange.
